On this page, you will see some photos that I have used and the resulting piece with explanations of why the photograph was chosen for the final work.

Good Photos vs Bad Photos

DSG Home
(MS Word Format)
The DSG Home paintings were both done with pen/ink/acrylic wash. One is the done using vibrant colors that sets the house right into the mountains and trees with a “whoosh”.
The lighter one is a more romanticized version that places the emphasis on the house itself. This is one example of how different flavors can come in the same medium. They each appeal to different tastes.
Dawg Man
DOG THE CAT: This portrait was done using both of the photos shown. I liked the pose of one photo the best and the coloring of the other one. It is very important that I have photos showing the accurate colors of the subject!
Diamond Gem
DIAMOND GEM: This photo had good coloring and good detail.
The Girls
THE GIRLS: I used two photos for Babygirl and one for Tracy. The coloring was perfect on one photo but the pose was too cute on the other one…there was just not enough detail on the cute one.
