The top is a great picture because it was taken next to a window, so the natural light gave great coloring, and it is close enough to give really good detail in her face. Three-quarter angles are very good for almost all animals! Another plus is that the camera was at eye level with the subject.
The lighting in the second picture is wonderful because there are no harsh shadows. We can see the details in the horse, and the coloring is natural. It was an overcast afternoon.
Again, lighting is the key for the bottom picture. . this was taken indoors, but with lots of natural lighting coming in from the left. Daylight is the key to accurate coloring. Again, the camera was at her level, making a much more natural pose.

| Too far away!! The lighting is natural, but the subject is too far away to get good detail. . try and paint a head shot from a photo that far away! Oh, and the horse wasn't really cooperating here either. Ears down and looking away from the camera.
Another backlighting issue! All details lost here. Good the camera was on her level, but not good for head shot details!
